I RECENTLY POSTED THIS ON MY FACEBOOK, & RECEIVED A LOT OF POSITIVE FEEDBACK, SO I THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE IT HERE, AS WELL:
You can tell who the really strong women are: they choose to surround themselves with other women who are both weak & strong. They are not threatened by their friends’ successes, but can be found cheering them on at every turn. They are too busy to gossip about other women’s issues, but instead are spending their time binding up the wounds of those around them. They possess their own inner beauty, & it is so radiant that they are not jealous of the internal or external beauty of others, but gather it to them so that all are made more beautiful in each other’s presence. Their focus is on eternal things, so they only give temporal things a passing glance, rather than dwelling on every detail of their neighbor’s lives. They rush to be the one to spot the weight that their sister is trying to lift, rather than trying to keep all of the strength training equipment to themselves, for they know that there is safety in numbers, & the stronger your allies, the stronger your team. The tears that God has placed in their bottle have not all been wept only for their own misfortunes, but they have a heart that is tender enough to cry over the brokenness of others, whether that person is closely tied to them or not. They love their children & their families, but realize that it is in their best interests to allow other people to love & care for them, as well.
ALL women have what it takes to be strong, but fear holds some of them back. It is when they finally realize that God is the source of all of their strength, & that His supply is unlimited, that they finally find themselves free to let go & be strong.
“My strength comes from The Lord.” ~ Psalm 121:2
